Mystery of Myott

A History of the Myott Pottery Stoke-on-Trent 1898-1991

By Anne Myott & Philip Pollitt

At last. A book about Myott. This highly informative read is the culmination of 4 years research and hard work by Anne Myott and Philip Pollitt, members of the Club.

In the authors' words: 'The Mystery of Myott' covers the Myott family, the pottery and its products from 1898 to 1991, when the Myott factory was taken over by Churchill. The book contains some of the Myott family history, the early period of the factory and some of the facts concerning the links with Goldscheider and with B.A.G. Co Ltd. There are 46 colour photographs of individual pieces of Myott ware, plus photographs of 23 examples of backstamps with approximate dates. In addition, nearly 500 patterns from 'Acorn' to 'Zodiac' are tabulated.

Philip and Anne have kindly agreed to include Myott Collectors Club flyers in all copies of The Mystery of Myott.

Visit Philip and Anne's website, from which you can read further information about the book and also order a copy.

The Myott pieces shown here are two examples taken from the book. They are: left - Torpedo Vase and right - Beaky (or Penguin) Jug.
